The Marked Ones has been described as a “spinoff” of Paranormal Activity series. It seems that Jesse’s neighbor was involved in some bizarre, macabre things with her own friends, which perhaps accounts for the VHS tapes marked “Katie and Kristi, 1988” in her apartment. Jesse finds himself changing and displaying what appear to be superhuman abilities, all while beginning to act darker and more malevolent. A murder happening in the apartment below his is only the beginning of some very strange events for Jesse – which escalate after he and his friends make the classic horror movie blunder of investigating the place where the terrible thing happened.

Set in the summer of 2012 (ah, nostalgia!), Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones centers on recent high school graduate Jesse (Andrew Jacobs) and his friends Hector (Jorge Diaz) and Marisol (Gabrielle Walsh).
